MyLand and Texas A&M AgriLife Research Launch Six-Part Soil Health Course Series

Online Soil Health Education Hub to Advance Sustainable Agriculture is Now Available

Phoenix, Arizona – July 15, 2025 — MyLand, a leader in soil health innovation, together with Texas A&M AgriLife Research have officially completed the launch of a comprehensive online Educational Hub, featuring six virtual courses focused on the science and stewardship of healthy soil systems.

Today marks the addition of five new courses to a robust collection of six soil health courses, thereby completing the development of a thorough Educational Hub. The courses cover core principles and pressing challenges impacting soil function, offering learners both foundational insights and practical strategies to support more sustainable agricultural systems.

A Transformative Learning Platform for Soil Health

Developed by academic experts, researchers, and Certified Crop Advisors from MyLand and Texas A&M University, the Educational Hub is designed to make soil science accessible to a broad and diverse audience. The courses are open-access, self-paced, and suitable for learners at all levels, whether educators, students, sustainability advocates, or professionals in agriculture and land management.

The complete course lineup includes:

  • Introduction to Soil Health: What makes soil healthy and how to support its vital functions.
  • Digging into Soil Chemical Properties: How nutrient cycles affect soil fertility and plant health.
  • Digging into Soil Physical Properties: The impact of texture, structure, and water on soil performance.
  • Digging into Soil Biological Properties: The role of microbes and the soil food web in building healthy and resilient soil.
  • Saline and Sodic Soils: Identifying and addressing salt-related challenges in affected regions.
  • Soil Testing Resources: How to collect, interpret, and act on soil health data.

The curriculum was designed to be accessible, evidence-based, and applicable across disciplines—from agriculture to environmental science to public policy.

“Understanding soil on a deeper level is vital,” said Dane Hague, Co-founder and CEO of MyLand. “While these courses only scratch the surface of what’s possible with healthier soil, they empower individuals to actively participate in improving soil health and advancing sustainable practices. This series equips learners to better understand soil systems—and to work toward healthier land, food, and people.”

The vision behind the Educational Hub is to connect the dots between soil function, environmental resilience, and sustainable agriculture while empowering people to take part in building a healthier future.

“These courses address key topics that are especially relevant in today’s changing climate and agricultural landscape,” said Dr. G. Cliff Lamb, Director of Texas A&M AgriLife Research. “This new resource can inform better land stewardship across disciplines and communities.”

The Educational Hub is part of a soil health research initiative between MyLand and Texas A&M AgriLife Research. The collaboration spans more than 12,000 acres of commercial farmland in key agriculture regions across Texas with over 20 crops, focusing on advancing sustainable farming through soil health, nutrient use efficiencies, and water conservation.

This dynamic platform empowers users to deepen their understanding of soil health and to become active contributors in building a resilient agricultural future.
