MyLand Welcomes Matthew Johnson as Director of Ag Science  

March 20, 2025 – Phoenix, Arizona – MyLand, a leading innovator in soil health, announced the addition of Matthew Johnson, PhD to its team as Director of Ag Science. In his new role, Johnson is responsible for highlighting the value of MyLand’s Soil as a Service™ offering by directing research projects and programs around the country.  

Overseeing the Ag Science Research and Development team, Johnson oversees the company’s research efforts in soil health. He is tasked with establishing and maintaining testing procedures to assess the connections between microalgae, soil health, plant productivity, and farming practices. Johnson reports to Dave Booher, MyLand’s Senior Vice President, Sales.

Johnson joins MyLand with a wealth of experience in agricultural sciences, having worked as a Senior Scientist for global biosciences company GaXtracts and founding and selling D&R Biosciences. He has also served as a plant sciences instructor at Cornell University and Unity Environmental University and oversaw vertical farming facilities as Jushi’s National Director of Cultivation/Research and Development.

Johnson earned his PhD in Plant Breeding Genetics and Genomics from The University of Georgia, and holds a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural and Environmental Plant Sciences from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo.
