Pistachio Trees Need Potassium

Heavy bearing, mature pistachio trees require copious quantities of potassium – up to 24 pounds per 1,000 pounds of nut dry weight, plus 24 pounds to support large tree growth.

This essential element is an activator for plant enzymes and plays a role in plant-water relations. Most of the potassium is applied in nut production and is removed during harvest.
