MyLand Receives F3i Innovation Grant for California Pistachio Orchard

MyLand Receives F3i Innovation Grant to Advance Soil Health Research in California Pistachio Orchards

F3 Innovate selects MyLand from 65 applicants to further validate microalgae’s impact on soil health

July 15, 2026 – Phoenix, Arizona – MyLand, a leading innovator in soil health, today announced it has received a $50,000 F3 Innovate (F3i) Innovation Grant to further validate its microalgae-based Service at Terra Linda Farms, a pistachio orchard in California’s Central Valley.

MyLand was selected from 65 applicants based on its innovation, potential impact, and alignment with F3i’s mission to advance agrifood technology across California’s Central Valley.

The grant will fund on-farm research evaluating how live, native microalgae positively impacts soil health for pistachios. Importantly, pistachios represent a multi-billion-dollar industry in the Central Valley, and growers face mounting pressure from water scarcity, rising input costs, and soil degradation.

“MyLand is thrilled to be part of this groundbreaking research, exploring how live, native microalgae can transform soil health in California pistachio orchards,” said Matthew Johnson, MyLand Senior Vice President of Operations. “This grant will fund independent validation of the MyLand Service for one of the country’s most economically significant tree crops.”

The research will build on existing results MyLand has measured across pistachio operations in California’s Central Valley, where the MyLand Service has been associated with improvements in soil biology, nutrient availability, and water use efficiency. Independent validation through F3 Innovate will contribute additional third-party documentation to that body of evidence.

“We are proud to support MyLand’s important work and recognize its impact on Central Valley agriculture,” said Priscilla Koepke, CEO of F3 Innovate.

MyLand’s patented Soil as a Service™ approach leverages the power of live, native microalgae from each grower’s farm to rapidly improve soil health. The microalgae are reintroduced into the soil through existing irrigation infrastructure, fitting seamlessly into existing farm operations. MyLand’s System is fully installed, managed, and maintained by the company.
